Overview
From Barranco Camp (3,950 meters), climbers begin their day with the "Breakfast Wall," a challenging scramble up the Barranco Wall, which rewards them with sweeping views from the top. This iconic wall requires careful footing but offers incredible vistas of the lush valleys and the summit above. After reaching the top, climbers descend into the Karanga Valley, a deep, scenic expanse with Kilimanjaro’s last water point. They then make a final ascent to Karanga Camp (4,035 meters), which translates to "Peanuts," referencing its small size but strategic location for acclimatization. Here, climbers enjoy panoramic views of the mountain slopes and surrounding landscapes, preparing for their journey higher up.
