Shira I Camp

Climbers set out from Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp. The journey begins in the lush rainforest, where they may encounter diverse wildlife and vibrant vegetation. As they ascend, the landscape transforms into the moorland zone, offering stunning mountain views and surrounding areas. After approximately five to six hours of hiking, the group arrives at Shira I Camp. Nestled on the Shira Plateau, the camp features a breathtaking panorama of Mount Kilimanjaro’s western slopes. The campsite is characterized by grassy areas and rocky outcrops, with striking Shira cones and peaks that define the landscape. Climbers can relax, take in the views, and prepare for the next stage of their adventure as the sun sets, casting a golden glow over the majestic scenery
